Hi Guys, glad you enjoyed the event.
We had some quality displays from some of thr real gentlement of the display world.
Maurice Hammond showed his newest Mustang; Marinell and John Dodd flew Paddy Greens C-47 Drag Em Oot. Together they put on a cracking show for us at EK for an event that will hopefully be repeated next year.

Drag Em Oot is set to be with us at EK until it leaves to display at Normandy in early June. It is not seen very often on the display circuit but it is the finest example of a C-47 that i’ve ever seen and it has been a pleasure to provide a roof over its head for the winter.

But wouldn’t it not look at home on the flightline?

The reason i said that is that its never been on the participants list which is a damn shame. There have been a whole variety of c47s/ Dc3’s that have attended and it would nice if the spotlight was on this particluar example.

Wish i had never mentioned the ‘L’ word now……

Is Legends the only show left this year?
It is however a lovely C47, its as good inside as it is out.

Don’t discount the Lanc/snow(?) picture! Not the kind seen everyday.

I think that first shot of the Lancaster is fantastic.

Am I right in believing the back end flies, when the run is long enough?

It would need a re-spar to fly….. shame that the move to guard the gate at Scampton involved cutting the wings off first 🙁 .

I never realised that. Was this done at the time it moved from Blackpool to Scampton?

Are there any plans to get this aircraft back in the air? I assume its in good nick since its kept inside and it already ground runs.

Shame, but I’m proud of their efforts in getting the old girl to her current state.

This was my youngest starting the firework display at Kirkby this weekend. I don’t know if she was shaking with excitement or cold! Fancy being only one draw away from a taxi in Just Jane – gutted!!

I am really going to have to go next year. Especially living next door to an old, abandoned bomber field as I do…

Is this the one thats owned by 2 farmers or something like that? I seem to remember there was a Lanc that was owned by 2 farmers that was run up regulary.

I take it you haven’t been paying attention????
