To Liverpool on Saturday. Worried with the weather.

I am flying to Liverpool this saturday, FR from Santiago. Well, I have been checking the weather forecast (I am a fearfull flier) and doesn´t sound too good. Seems a bit to windy……a 20 mph winds could cause a rough landing?. Anyone one from LPL could update the conditions for saturday?. I am thinking of cancelling the flight. I know I am a paranoic

Just arrived. Not bad at all. No substancial turbulences, and pretty smooth flights. Lots of clouds eveywhere, rain but not bad. Thanks again.

The thing you oughta be worried about is the Scousers, not the weather!

it will be fine……………

its when you have been doing laps 10k in the air around MAN in winter for an hour when they are clearing snow off the runway you wish you had cancelled!!

it will be fine!! (saying that you should be on your way now!!)

Tho there is nothing like landing in strong winds, really shows how hard the guys up front have to work, to get the baby on the ground, and they do it fantastically!

Don’t worry mate, the wind on landing generally only becomes relevant if it’s gusting and/or it’s a crosswind, a 20kt crosswind will be ok too, just remember the air is like a big cushion, the plane is going nowhere, it rides the bumps a bit like a ship does on the sea, treat the turbulance like a fairground ride, it’s lots of fun :D, I say this to my pax when encountering turbulance, just enjoy it 😉

Looking at the MetOffice, Saturday is supposed to be a fine day with some scattered Sc, and a 15kt wind, which looks like it will be straight down the runway, so no issues at all, enjoy it

😀

20 knots is not bad… I did that 2 weeks ago in a GA plane. The only thing that could be annoying is if you encounter big gusts, which wouldn’t make for a rough landing, but rather for an uncomfy ride at low altitude…

You’ll be fine.
