Anyone know where we can get a decent poster of a B 737 – 200 cockpit? The idea is to build a sort of replica to keep us amused. We alreday have seats and some instruments/switches. What is needed is something like the training posters but at $250 each these are well out of our budget.
It needs to be the older versions as we have all analogue instruments. Our skills don’t run to installing video screens and writing programs.

Eu’s dad here:
This is another father and son(s) project. Both eldest boys enjoy FS2002 and we thought it would be fun to build a replica cockpit. If we get carried away we might try and link it to the sim software but that is probably way beyond our budget and capabilities.
Other projects have included a go-kart, RC Piper Cub and various other bits and pieces. Some are on www.ilvaporista.it under famiglia but beware most of it is in Italian, unless you want to buy a farmhouse in the Italian hills!!

A big thanks for that link. A great site.
But still I can not find any dimensions. Anyone know what size is a ‘standard avionics bay’?
Or on a next cockpit visit can someone whip out a tape measure!!

Give that a whirl mate.
http://www.b737.org.uk/index.htm
It’s a site used by pilots/ engineers that’s created from their input. 🙂 🙂
Click on aircraft systems, then click anywhere on the pic of the overhead.Or click on flightdeck for some very detailed photgraphs.
Not sure if exact dimensions are on there, but lots and lots of tech info.
Cheers

It is now time to start construction of our mock up cockpit, materials are to hand.
We had no luck with full size posters but we now have many pictures of the panels and cockpit. From these we intend to scale them up to full size. In order to scale we need to know some actual dimensions. Does anyone know or can measure some dimensions?
For example; centre console width, overhead panel width, size of the windows, diameter of some of the gauges etc.?
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks for that link but I am looking to buy a poster, trying to scale off a video screen from a wide angle lens photo distorts everything.
