FRA to expand (new terminal, runway)

As was to be expected, the departure of the USAF from FRA has led to expansion plans. FRA intends to open up a 3rd terminal on the spot previously taken by the air force base. This terminal will increase the capacity by 25 million, capacity is currently 56 million. Cargo areas and maintenance areas will be added too, including maintenance areas for the A380.

Even more interesting will be the new runway that will be added north of the A3 motorway. It is to be used for landings only.
