The whole country is heading in the same direction as Colombia so they might as well screw the airport name up as well.

It Will be known as “OR Tambo International”. No mention of Johannesburg in the title. The name change is all to do with the “New South Africa” ANC who is the political party in charge of the country just now are trying to change most of the Afrikanner street, town & big attractions to some of their heros names. When it was announced here on the news there was uproar in the parliment about it party oppisitions.
They are also busy building an extension to the International terminal to accomadate the new A380 and the increased numberof international flights. Rumour has it that they want to build another runway possibly 2 to accomadate the increased volume.
