Not the most pleasant of experiances!

A PILOT was forced to make an emergency pit stop — so 295 British tourists could go to the loo.

Passengers had been banned from using the 767’s toilets in case they OVERFLOWED after ground crew forgot to empty them before take-off.

The nine-hour flight from Cancun in Mexico to Birmingham had to divert to Goose Bay, Canada.

The unscheduled stop meant that passengers landed in Britain almost 24 HOURS late.

Holidaymakers on Thomson flight TOM1578 were three hours from Birmingham when they were told they could not go to the toilets.

One said: “The pilot said there was a problem with the loo and we could not go to the toilet any more.

“You can imagine what it was like. Everyone wanted to go to the loo. It was very uncomfortable.”

But at the military air base in Canada the problems continued.

The passenger said: “When we landed we could not leave the plane for another two hours until they emptied the toilets.” Air traffic control then tried to find another take-off slot, but the only one came as the crew went out of working hours.

So desperate holidaymakers couldn’t relieve themselves until they were taken off the plane and put up in air base barracks while the crew went to a hotel to get some sleep.

The passenger added: “We just had to wait until they had their rest and could go back on duty again.”

A spokesman for Thomson confirmed the flight was diverted to Goose Bay due to a toilet problem.

But she insisted the toilets had been serviced correctly in Mexico.

Can’t imagine that, it’s only on long haul that I actually tend to leave my seat. If anything it teaches you to use the toilet before you go 😀 :diablo: .
