Don’t like that very much…

The shot is fascinating and a great catch. HOWEVER, it has been over-manipulated beyond what has been allowed on airliners.net and on that basis should never have got onto their database. The problem is not the rainbow trail, but the black sky. The screeners have really let themselves down by firstly accepting the photo and secondly by defending its addition whilst at the same time similarly manipulated shots have been rejected many times in the past. Its great for the photographer but very sad for where it takes airliners.net and nicely demonstrates why I have very little time for that site and most of the people who run it anymore.

What do you mean you “did the same thing to a Ryanair 737-200”?!
Wouldn’t a polarising filter make an already dark-ish sky look even darker?
Paul
Going to Mahon a Ryanair 732 flew over us with a contrail I took picture and in photography added a Rainbow contrail 😀

If, by some chance, it wasn’t a photoshop edit.
Then, does anyone know what sort of atmospheric conditions would produce a “Rainbow” contrail?Funny phenomenon that causes this effect, or a piece of work produced by someone that REALLY knows how to use Photoshop.
Bloody impressive looking either way. 😎
Wow said there it is a great picture but the contrail’ does not look real as I did the same thing in Photography to a Ryanair 737-200 😀 . I like this shot http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0989599/L/

I’m with Tartan Pics on this one, yes it’s a bloody brilliant, creative and imaginative use of photog…. er… photoshop. 😀
Nice shot though, kind of reminds me of several 1970’s ‘prog-rock’ album covers…

Sorry if my humble opinion offends you guys, but, that is CLEARLY photoshopped. I have never claimed to have any fabulous shots, does that negate me from having an opinion?? I never said it was fake (“Looks” like a drawing) I commented on its extreme use of photoshop or similar, nothing wrong with that, for an “arty” shot.
I’m not offended, just deeply disappointed that all you can say when shown such a stunning shot is that it’s CLEARLY photoshopped. Most serious shots you’ll ever see have been processed in Photoshop or similar, but you said it in a way that implied it had somehow been faked which I honestly do not believe to be the case.
As you say however, your opinion is your own, and I would never under any circumstances, however much I may disagree even atempt to say you’re entitled to that.

Totally agree mate. You put into words exactly what I was thinking!
Here’s another similar shot by this photographer, I don’t think he would fake it twice!
By: PMN - 4th August 2006 at 16:16
Mmm looks way too much like a drawing for me…photoshop set to stun!!
2/10 for imagination.
And your shots of similar quality are where exactly? I’m sorry… Time for an outburst. It REALLY winds me up when someone somewhere produces such a stunning piece of photographic art and all some people can say is ‘fake’.
Congratulations to the photographer for producing one of the most amazing shots I’ve ever seen. unfortunately he now has to endure the insult of people saying his incredible work isn’t real. Sad… Very sad.

Of course it has been edited in Photoshop of some description. Levels is a first, which makes it a lot darker etc.
But it doesn’t matter, It is stunning!!!!
By: EK. - 4th August 2006 at 16:01
wow that is one amazing photo!!!
Ps its gets a bit repetitive every time someone takes a brilliant photo people just say its fake, Photoshop etc.
