Dont know if this has already been mentioned but if your booking flights with Ryanair after the 1st November 2006, they’ve reduced there baggage allowance to 15kgs again. Excess baggage is charged at £5.50/€8.00 plus the cost of checking in your bag.
If your booking with them keep it in mind as it may work out cheaper to book with someone else, when you add up the extras.
It seems Ryanair really dont want people checking in bags where all possible

But since a lot of forum members use Ryanair only for day-tripping, whether their baggage allowance is 15kg or 20kg, it shouldn’t matter. It’s only the 10kg hand baggage allowance that should count for anything, meaning that the photographers amongts us can take their ridiculously heavy lenses with them! 🙂

Yeah looks like they raised it to 20kg as a bit of a sweetner when they introduced charging for bags, they must be loosing a lot on excess baggage. They still allow 10kg of cabin baggage.

I thought part of the deal with them charging for checked in baggage, was that they were giving an increased baggage allowance of 20KG for the money? Seems a bit of a rip off with it going back to 15KG!
