It would be good news for Liverpool if the New York proves a success, many Americans visit the city on the Beatles trail, I here Cavern City Tours are keen on using the service for In-Bound U.S tourists. I think 757s will be fine for the route as these have proved ideal for linking regional cities as per Continental’s experiiences.

As it stands, runway length is a limiting factor for long-haul services out of Liverpool. A 757 to the US east coast (or similar distance) is about the best you’ll get with a full payload.
Things may change howver, although not overnight. Have a look at this thread I started a few days back, lifted from the local morning paper website:

Public comments from Flyglobespan in the last few weeks suggest that advance booking on the New York service (to Newark), which starts next May, are runnng at a high level.

No they ‘shouldn’t.’

Runway length and passenger loads also have to be taken into consideration for aircraft types.

lets stop the bitchiness and all get along

I think this statement could be applied to a number of threads recently. We have become quite an intolerent bunch of late. Intolerent of some newcomers to the forum from the outset, and intolerent of stupid questions in particular. Well as the saying goes, there’s no such thing as a stupid question, but there are stupid answers.

If someone asks what we think is a daft question, would it not be more in the spirit of learning and sharing to explain why it’s daft rather than simply attack, as is becoming the norm?

A bit of research wouldnt go a miss?

And why ask LPL or MAN, when you just asked if LPL were to have a l/h route?
