Thats bad news for lba

I don’t think so some how they are 61.2 miles apart and one is britians 3rd busiest airports.

Good news for MAN.

Most people like to go direct, i know i like to go direct, maybe they fly from MAN for the business side of it, better times on the flights they want like 6am dep to LHR, im not sure, i no that i dont need to travel to other airports for my flights as MAN has all the routes a family needs, because of MANs routes ive tried different holiday destinations, and i tried places i wouldnt of given a thought about like Funchal/Madeira

LBA needs TCX or FCA or maybe XLA, for about 10 years we have had only 2 charter airlines basing in summer. We need 3 or 4.

Yes, but business travellers flying to the likes of LHR/AMS/CDG etc, have absolutely no need to fly from MAN surely if LBA is there nearest airport ? Admittedly if the traveller is flying to DXB/JFK/ORD etc, then they would have to use MAN if they were not prepared to transit through one of the major hubs.

LBA certianly needs more charter flights to compete with MAN that is no question, but whilst people from the Yorkshire area continue to happily fly from MAN then that isn’t going to happen in a significant way anytime soon.

LBA serves it’s own market and MAN theres. Both airports will continue to grow, so the comment by lbarlz is irrelevent.

Only to some extent, most Leeds based businesses rely heavily upon MAN. We do work for both airports and always have to take that into account. There are a lot of travellers coming over the pennines to fly from MAN.

lba rlz Thats bad news for lba

Now what makes you think that?? For some reason I really don’t think MAN’s long turm Future will hurt LBA that much as it has done over the last 20/30 years.

MAN wants all the Long Haul/Point to Point routes while LBA still and will always has it’s place as an Regional Airport and will continue to do so in the future and beyond.

Yes Maybe LBA could substain a couple of long Haul routes but not on the same scale as MAN currenlty has and wants to have. Daily Business flights to New York, weekly Orlando summer sun flights over the Atlantic and aslo not forgetting A Pakistan/India Route Once or twice a week.
