I guess it makes flying in Asia a lot more of an adventure then.

What I would like to know is who authorized that truck to cross the runway while this aircraft was on final and also, how could the driver have missed the rather large aircraft that was just about on top of them? I find it incredible that no one was killed!
If you ever fly in that part of the world you will start to understand it a bit more. Airports aren’t sterile as they are here but more like inconveniences that have to be crossed. In India I have seen livestock being hearded across runways and in China it was like rush hour after an aircraft passed the hole in the fence they used to gain access to the short cut. Truly amazing when compared to this part of the world.

This incident happened in 2003! B-22603 was written off. The people in the truck were slightly hurt – very fortunate.

My source says a/c touched down then collided with truck while nose was still up, wedging the truck into the belly area, flatening said truck and spreading the load all over the runway, hence truck etc some distance behind.
Sounds right looking at the damage on the rear of the fuselage. Hope the truck driver had his head down.

A321 V Truck info
A little more info
Trans Asia with a REG of B-2260?
According to CH.aviation its got to be a 321-131
CN 538 is B-22601
CN 555 is B-22602
CN 606 is B-22605
CN 731 is B-22606
CN 746 is B-22607
looking at the photo with most of the REG in it I say it was 22606 because the little bit of the 6th digit that can be seen appears to be ( shape.

Not sure where, aircraft says Trans Asia airways on it and is B reg, so somewhere in Asia. If you noticed that, sorry, don’t mean to sound patronising, just incase you missed it.
A truck driving into the back of it, damage looks quite bad so would have been high speed?
By: gatwickjosh - 23rd June 2006 at 15:30
looks preety nasty

Or perhaps the plan “landed” on it?
Notice the flap extension is similar to landing config.
That sounds quite likely – the spoilers are deployed.
Does anyone know where this incident occured?
By: Bmused55 - 23rd June 2006 at 12:44
Driving I presume :p
Any more details on this, by the pictures it looks more like the truck has driven up the back of the plane as there is no damage towards the front to suggest the plane run over it, and planes dont reverse fast or under their own steam (with exception),Wozza
