The smell on aircraft when you walk in is just heavenly, especially big airlines. What kind of spray/perfume do they use?

I get to fly a lot of brand new aeroplanes at the moment and yes they do have a new car smell (with a tinge of garlic). Personally I prefer to fly aeroplanes that are about 6 months old as that way someone else has sorted out all the niggles you always get with a brand new aircraft. In fact Chuck Yeager summed it up nicely when he said ‘never fly the A model of anything’.

As our 321’s were being delivered I flew on three of them on their first flights. The smell of leather wafted up the jetty to meet us as we were boarding.

Yeah we get that still in a way, jus the leather smell or ‘eau de Boeing’

I’ve never smelt that ellusive “new car smell” 🙁

Mind you, I’m far too car proud. If I got a new car, I’d never take it out of the garage! LOL

Off Subject.. You can buy one of those Air Freshner Magic Tree’s that has a new car smell scent! 🙂

back to subject. Super pic, how many more T7 have AA got to get, because i seem to remember they deferred alot of orders after 9/11

They sure do Steve, had the privilege the other month of flying on BMI’s new A319, was only days old and it smelt very new, just like my new car does at the moment.
