problems taking photos

From the images section a worrying message from Manchester

A word of warning…. I was moved on this evening by a friendly and polite but very determined policeman.

A few questions about this gentleman

* was copper in uniform?
* was he Greater Manchester or Cheshire or British Transport plod? (the latter are more concerned about safety on railway bridges. The former may be more concerned about you stepping back into the road while taking photos)
* what form of words did he use to move you on? standing on a bridge is not illegal, it is a public right of way; neither is taking photos illegal. I have been told that taking photos is against the human rights of those on board the aircraft because I don’t have their permission to take the pic. Absolute twaddle of course.
* did plod take your details? Did you take his?

Now a request for more info generally because there is too much of this going on right now. PC Plod has no right to move anyone on from a public place unless they have good reason which they must explain at the time – safety being the most obvious reason. If anyone is challenged by a plod ask them for their details, make a note of when and where and what they say.

Further to to Human Rights

“I have been told that taking photos is against the human rights of those on board the aircraft because I don’t have their permission to take the pic. Absolute twaddle of course.”

Photographing a consenting model.ie Studio photo session (preferably the female form 😮 :p ) requires a model release form to be signed if the picture is to been seen in public. Advert, portfolio, WWW.
The same “Technically” goes if you take a picture in the street and people can be identified.
However, to be able to identify someone peering through an aircraft window is 0% unless you have one hell of a zoom lens and a very steady hand.
Therefore I would say to anyone going on about Human Rights and Photos to politely ****** off. However, you get a copper on a bad one and you could end up doing a lot of explaining in the local cop shop. 😡
