Tony Blair and co decided to save the British taxpayers some cash on Saturday when he visited the Pope in Rome. How? By flying Ryanair!. :p
After the controversy of using the Queen’s Royal Flight in the recent past for holidays and trips abroad, it appears the Blairs have a new way of appealing to the public by saving £16,000. Although, the papers will make it out to be a new thing it’s not. He’s used Ryanair before but won’t say where to as I’m not sure if it’s in the public domain.
I wonder will MOL come out with some PR stunt about this haha. However, the Prime Minister got slightly special treatment – no queueing, dashing for seats or walk through the terminal. Damn, I would have loved to see the entourage making a legger for it across the apron at Ciampino, it always makes my day 😀

It was a private holiday, thats why he didnt use the Royal Flight. He just happened to be seeing the Pope on the last day of his private trip.

Blair with Ryanair 😀
He’s used them before, as stated. It was to Carcassonne in France for their summer holidays.
Redsquare – it’s all in the Ryanair book so no worries there 😀

Can’t believe someone like Blair would go with Ryanair!
The Pope on the other hand seems to like Alitalia a lot. So do I! 😀

Tomyinyork, they clearly dont if Mr Blair has used FR a couple of times. Wasnt it a few years ago on his holiday to Italy he used FR for his family? I think i remember them using easyJet once too.

Why do the Government always use BA, why not cheaper alternatives like Monarch, MyTravel or FlyJet 😮
Also what did Mr Major and Mrs Thatcher use.
