As I alluded to on the Meets thread we are having a get together in Belfast to celebrate the end of our annual Group Flight event all day on the 30th July. Up until lunchtime we will be ending our global flight after 4 days of solid flying, and so we need a few people there to help us celebrate the grand finale leg back into Belfast.
After these have concluded we will be having a BBQ on site, and we will be able to open up our full sized Airbus A320 Flight Deck to anyone who wishes to have a go.
As an added bonus the well known aviation celebrity Jeremy Spake will once again be on hand to chat to visitors and I’m sure sign things!
We are pushing very hard for some kind of behind the scenes tour of Belfast Aldergrove as well as some involvement with MyTravel at the airport as well, however I must stress these are still very much in the planning stage.
Basically this post is just to guage general interest and see if anyone form the forum would be interested in coming along. AndrewM, Robert Hamilton, Jeremy Spake and myself are guarenteed to be there, along with a whole host of sponsors and representatives of the aviation industry. Its a guarenteed fun day out even if we are unable to pull off the extra features, so hopefully one or two of you will be able to make the flight over, or even pop down the road if you are already in Norn Iron!

I have a gig in Austria on the 28th, but my plan is to get a flight straight to BFS from whichever UK airport we land at on the 29th, so hopefully I’ll be able to make two nights!

LOL Maybe in the 1970s! Don’t be confused because of the attached Army Base. If you get too close to it yeah they will get nervous but it will be airport police telling you off.
Naturally we are working issues through to stop any problems occuring to people whilst “in our care” if you like. Same happened to us last year when we were refused access to terminal at night (to get food), that is being sorted for this year and will cover anyone attending our meet.

In terms of BFS viewing, we have a decent enough Viewing Gallery (some of the glass is dirty) but also have a few external sites depending on which runway is in use.
Aren’t most of the external sites protected by the military though?

At BFS there is our normal array of easyJet, bmibaby and Jet2. We also have 2 MYT A320s based. During certain days we get B757s, B767s, A330s of various operators. We also have a based bmi A321 operating charter flights. First Choice also operate flights during the summer last year using an A32X.
We also have a weekday COA B757 flight and I forget when but a Zoom flight too. I believe our Air Transat flight is still operating also.
MontyP or other BFS regulars can confirm above in more detail.

If enough people turn up we can arrange trips to these locations easily enough.
