There’s a few potential meets flying around at the moment, so I thought I’d just stick a reminder on here for those who may have said “I’ll wait until nearer the time” a while ago. Or for those who are looking for some flights to book, you may aswell try and join us!
23rd July – Farnborough Airshow – Meet at the ‘Groupflight’ stand in the Flightsim Pavilion where you’ll find myself, Mark L, Andrewm, and Wysiwyg (?).
30th July – Belfast – Not entirely sure on details. Contact MarkL for info.
1st August – Manchester – I am the only one definitely confirmed with flights booked. Tom (LBARULES) is pretty much definite, along with a large host of other MAN locals. Almost guaranteed to be a fair sized turnout.
7th-9th August – Palma de Mallorca – So far (I think) it’s just me, Stuart (RIPConcorde), Tom (Future Pilot) and Matthew Murray in attendance. We’ll be staying in Majorca on the 7th and 8th, flying home on the 9th.
30th August – Amsterdam – RIPConcorde, LBARULES, Future Pilot, A330-300 and PMN in attendance so far. Ringway Sam almost confirmed.
That’s it off the top of my head, the rest is up to you!

It was me who mentioned the farting thing… And believe me, had I have wanted to, I could have easily closed AMS…
Err… Anyway… Thanks all for an enjoyable day, and to echo Tom’s words a huge thanks to Pete for driving us around (and giving me tips regarding white balance!)
Cheers guys,
Paul

Thanks for a brilliant day guys, was a great laugh! Of course, i’m completely innocent of destroying any umbrellas ;).
Many thanks for transporting us around Pete once again!
By: Future Pilot - 30th August 2006 at 21:40
Good time was had by all 😀 and countless thanks go to Pete for hauling us round all day!

They were shoddily made and not made for hurricane force winds!!! It just snapped n my hand.
You said you could fart harder then that. Now either you are a WMD (don’t tell Bush), or the wind was not that bad.
edit:
I am in doubt now. It may have been Paul that mentioned his farting accomplishments. Let’s change subject now… 😉

Hope it stays dry for y’all. 😉
Ooh funny, another Englishman that does not take my warning seriously (remember: “It will be “mildly moist” to put it in Clarkson terms, punctuated by the occaisional monsoon. Bring wellingtons and shoes you do not mind getting dirty!“). Honestly, it was all I could do not to laugh out loud when seeing 2 of the 5 lads had white shoes. :diablo:
But hey, “we’re English, we’re used to a bit of rain“. Or so I was told at the beginning of the day. Funny times indeed. And you lot only managed to destroy two umbrellas. Of course those where my only two umbrellas, but who’s counting? 😀
>insert evil laughter here<

By: RIPConcorde - 29th August 2006 at 23:16
Have fun guys, still annoyed that I can’t make it, especially as I suggested this date but but oh well, another time maybe. Hope it stays dry for y’all. 😉
By: LBARULES - 29th August 2006 at 23:06
Oh dear…… Oh well, still looking forward to it!

BBC says it’s meant to be sunny? Then again, that’s BBC.
Still, whatever the weather… looking forward to it.
Take my worth for it, it will be wet.
In fact, I am pondering if perhaps we should get ourselves a rental car as well. Considering that my car will seat 4, 5 tops when not driving, I think it may be a good idea. Bare in mind that most spots at AMS have no shelter! If it rains, you’re screwed.
I’ve been looking around abit, Hertz has a manualgear Fiat Panda on offer for 131 euro. Should be enough for our needs since my Golf will also be available. Other rental agencies either have nothing left or do not allow booking less then 24 hours in advance.

I take it you have not seen the weather forecast yet then? It will be “mildly moist” to put it in Clarkson terms, punctuated by the occaisional monsoon. Bring wellingtons and shoes you do not mind getting dirty!

I think the best place to meet is the Panorama terrace.
By: SHAMROCK321 - 28th August 2006 at 15:27
Right so where are we all goig to meet when we get off our flights? I know nothing about what airlines arrive in to what areas so is there somewhere we can assemble so no one gets lots. I dont want what happened to DC-10 fan at the DUB meet to happen to anyone again that was a long walk.
