Inflight "Books"

Does anyone know anything about inflight books as such. For those who maybe don’t understand, they were given to passengers on flights, a sort of inflight magazine. Huge ringbound thing full of information about destinations, the airlines aircraft etc.

I have one from a KLM Connie dated 1954 (I think), almost complete (missing some writing paper) and wanted to know a bit more about them! Mine has the “pilots sheet” which was completed by the pilot giving information about altitiude etc, then passed through the cabin but this is all I know!
