Beauvechain Trainersmeet

Hello all,

Was yesterday on a very cloudy and rainy day at “Bevekom AB” in Belgium.
For the yearly trainersmeet over there, and the farewell of the Alpha Jet.
Photoreport is now online, hope you like them.

Thanks Ramon and Jochen. By the way Jochen, this week I’ll go buying tickets for the “Polikarpov hunt”, Peter is coming also. I’ll keep you informed.

Here is what I heard 2 weeks ago:

The Fougas are reported to retire at the end of this year, but the Colonel who flies the solo displays hopes to keep one in flying condition until the open door at Beauvechain in 2006 for a farewell display.

So officialy they retire by the end of this year, but the desk piloting colonels just have a soft spot for this machine and can’t let her go so easely.

None, the A-Jet trainers move to France, and the pilot training will be integrated within the French training syllabus.

A pity indeed, but… I have the seeling that some will stay here. After all, when the Fougas are gone, which aitcraft would our desk piloting colonels use to keep their license ? 😉

Thanks for the link Ramon. Another BAF type that ends his career in Belgium. I also like the picture of the 2 Fouga Magisters (the other type which will end it’s flying career soon 🙁 ).

Nice souveniers.
