Alaska has airborne pizza courier,
17-04-2006
NOME – Inhabitants of the remote areas in Alaska, where the diet normaly consists of whale, walrus, reindeer and berries, can now enjoy a delicious fresh pizza. Frontier Flying Sevice, a small regional airline, now delivers pizzas by air to the small Eskimo communities.
The pizzas are baked 100s of kilometers away at the airport of Nome. It is not even expensive to get your pizza delivered. The cheapest cheese-pizza will set you back 16 US$. For a large special pizza you would only have to pay 32 US$. Frontier Flying Sevice takes the pizzas without extra costs on their regular services.
The most remote order came from barrow, some 750km from Nome. The people there ordered 6 pizzas with reindeer saucages.
The article does not say if the pizza is free if the delivery time is over 15 minutes.
