NEW DELHI: A Qatar Airways aircraft carrying 221 passengers on board made an emergency landing at the Delhi airport following a “major engine trouble”, airport sources said.
The aircraft, coming from Doha to Delhi, landed safely at 1050 a.m. and the passengers are safe. The pilot of the Airbus A-330 aircraft informed the Air Traffic Control of the “engine shutdown” and the plane was taken to a remote bay, the sources said.
Full emergency was declared at the airport and all incoming and outgoing traffic was closed for about 45 minutes to enable the aircraft to land, they said.
The passengers were offloaded from the aircraft at the remote bay.
