Greekdude, I absolutly love the A300-600. I found it probably the most “cosy” aircraft i have ever been on!

Did I read somewhere today that the A340-500 and 600 line may also be coming to a premature end, owing to a lack of orders ?

The A300 has always been my favorite Airbus type, having flown on both the classic version with Olympic 23 years ago, and the -600R with Lufthansa on many occassions within Europe. I have also flown on both versions of the A310, having flown on the -200 with KLM back in ’89 and ’91, and the -300’s of Air Jamaica in ’96 and Lufthansa in ’99 when they were still on strength. They will be missed. Although I don’t see LH getting grid of their AB6’s anytime soon, as they are well used (282 all econo layout) and are typically operated to capacity on high-density Euro-routes. They are a staple on the FRA-ATH run, that’s for sure.

Is it safe to assume that the 5 outstanding orders of the A310 for IranAir, will not be fullfilled before the line shuts down?

There’s an mention in a weekly Aviation publication that airbus are to develope a A330-200F which is no shock baring in mind the TANKER requirement. Shame to lose the A300 first of the line, but inevitable with the A350 coming along.
