Hey guys,
Just wondered if anyone knows the strategy of where Jet2 deploys it’s 757’s at the moment.
Just looked on the Yahoo LBA group, where our very own EGNM kindly posts what aircraft are operating where, and it appears that G-LSAA operated to Prague and Amsterdam today!
Anyone know if that will be the pattern? Would love to get back to AMS, even more so on such a sexy 757!
Thanks :).

The ones that have been strongly rumoured lately were DUS, ACE, LCA and LPA.
We have got two of them, here’s hoping for the other 2!
Jet2 spot a gap in the charter market from LBA and go for it (Only a couple of charter flights a week to ACE in winter at the most).

I don’t know what you mean by that.
If you look at the number of destinations, it already is. When Arrecife is announced tomorrow, thats 22 destinations, the nearest to that is MAN with 16.
As you will see in thread about the Yorkshire Evening Post Article, they are relocating all their offices here, so it’s probably going to be the biggest base in that right as well.
Jet2 have had tremendous success from LBA, they have started 22 destinations, and only dropped one, which is returning for this summer. (Milan Bergamo). I think that says it all!

Looks like you be seeing jet2’s B757’s down in Arrecife soon. As tomorrow Jet2 are to announce there 24th destination. And according to the Jet2 website it looks like they are to announce a new route from Leeds/Bradford to Lanzorte.
Its showing in the booking system on the jet2 website but is’nt bookable as yet. Also the timetable page has been uploaded but no timetable is showing as yet.
Yep great news as I said in the other thread, but it’s only Jet2’s 22nd destination from LBA.

I’m getting a bit envious about goings on at LBA now!!

The Max a B757-200 can take is 239, but most charter airlines have 233/235 on there aircraft.

233 i think is maximum on a 757 – ready to be corrected!

I think they are in 227 seat config, but I can’t be certain.
228 to be exact (at the mo) 😉 but thats not many compared to some airlines, i think all this will change on the next lot of 757s.

I’ve seen Jet2 operate a few Geneva flights with the 75′.
When I flew to AMS in February, G-LSAB departed for Geneva, with what I counted as around 200 people.
If the 757’s are currently been used on routes that have sold in excess of the 737’s capacity, that must bode well for PRG and AMS, with over 150 people midweek in March!
I’m not sure about that one………. 😉

One of last weeks GVA flights was operated by one of the 757 aircraft. The flight returned with 224 passengers so the demand is there.

The 757s are not in full use until the start of the summer timetabe, which comes in when the clocks change at the end of the month. At that point they will each be flown at least twice daily 7 days a week. Until then, they just appear on flights which are sold in excess of a 737 load to popular places on high demand days, plus they are used for “crew familiarisation training purposes” as and when.

Maybe because i is winter they are just used on any routes but when it comes to summer it might go to the popular med flights such as alc agp or tfs?

The 757s do seemed to have been used more recently, they seem to be used on alot of GVA flights, and of course used on two TFS flights a week. Would be very interested to know how long they are going to be used on these shorter sectors, surely there cant have been the demand to fill a 757 on midweek AMS and PRG flights, maybe just using them for crew training, or just to use them!
I am certain they will be very well utilised in the summer on the Spanish routes.
