I’ve been taking advantage of Ryanair low-fares a little recently, and have 2 small trips booked in May. I’m just posting ehre incase anyone is interested in tagging along for a bit of spotting and/or photography.
The first is to Dublin on the 16th May. I arrive at 0745, and depart again at 1755. I’m actually departing to ORK, and am then flying onto STN. It costs a total of £16.50 (inc taxes) to fly DUB-STN, versus about £12.50 (in total!) to fly DUB-ORK-STN instead.
The second trip is a shorter one, to Shannon on the 31st May. I arrive at 1000, and leave again at 1600. Now this is where you’re going to envy me…..
My flight to Shannon…..return…including all taxes and fees…..a grand total of…..wait for it……….£8.69!!! I then paid an 80p debit card fee, so still a retun flight for less than a tenner!
So yeah, anyone interested in meeting me at either of thosee, let me know. There’s been a lot of DUB photos recently so you’ll all have an idea if you’ve not been before. I texted Paul last night, and subject to his work commitments, he’s up for my LBA-DUB-SNN-LGW-MAN idea, and I should have the money with me starting a new job.

Well if Im off Ill meet with you in DUB and I may take the day off and fly down to SNN on an A330 and get the train back or maybe fly to STN with you and then jump on an FR flight to DUB.

It’s a shame no-one else lives nearer to STN. For £8.69 return you could nver call yourself an aviation enthusiast again if you turned it down. I still can’t quite understand how it worked out so cheap :confused: STN departure tax is usually around £15, but to SNN it was only £5.

Hmm… this is one for a Mr Nichols :).
Depending on money and time off, would you be up for flying LBA-DUB on the 30th May evening, staying over in a hotel, then flying DUB-SNN-LGW-MAN the next day? ;).
I’m getting about £73 for the whole lot which is incredibly cheap, plus of course the cost of a hotel at DUB, which I have found the Travellodge at £27, which leaves the whole lot at around £100, which doesn’t seem bad at all to me!

AArggh… Looks like i’m in college on the 16th! My holidays don’t seem to fall until a couple of weeks later!
Would have definitly been up for it otherwise, only £29.68 from LBA!
Would have loved to have dropped in at Shannon, been looking at EI for the A330, appears the the DUB-SNN i would be able to get would be 13:00 departure, unfortunately the last SNN-DUB leaves at 12:45! Would have had to go over to MAN and flew EI or FR from MAN, but wouldn’t have bothered me, and i’m avaliable on the 31st… Oh well….
