Some pics from a still cold DUS

I was at DUS in October and I’d say it’s definitely worth a visit. Two good viewing areas – one on the railway station and then one at the terminal. Both give a good (different) views. Entry is €2 and that ticket gets you into both.

Also a good aviation shop up by the one in the terminal.

Well DUS had 15,5 million Üax last year and expects over 16 Mill. next year, as they got more slots. Traffic wise it can not compete with MAN, when it comes to widebodies. A 747 is rare, as is a A340. You get the usual LTU A330 and some 767s every now and then.
If you go on the 25th of June you should see every turkish charter operator flying. .

DUS got 15.51 million passengers last year. I know that MAN handled well over 20 million.

I think it gets a fair amount of traffic, but not as much as MAN, certainly when talking about long haul. It also looks like it has lots of regional traffic. Judging by photos and arrival boards of course.

How busy is DUS??,are we talking similar traffic rates to say MAN or quieter?

Just +2°C but we have that weather for months now. And I am tired of it. If we would have had some real snow it would have been ok, but that just over freezing weather is just awful.

Did I already mention, that I hate winter ? Did I also say that there is nothing worse then snow showers that do melt once thy hit the ground.
