Today my mum and dad were at ALC returning to LGW and their Monarch flight was delayed, me dad said it was because there was’nt enough gates, and that they had to wait for about 1 or 2 other flights pushed back before the A321 could park, but i thought it was only at heathrow that they had to wait for a gate (he he) was this just the one off or did somthing go wrong.
any ideas??

More than LHR makes you wait for stands-it even happens at GLA in the summer

ALC on a Saturday is extremely busy. There are only 5 airbridges and so many remote stands on which aircraft can park. Traffic is at its peak on a Saturday just before midday and then, stands are always being used.
