CAPE TOWN – South African Airways is considering to lease a small number of Airbus A380’s from ILFC. The South-African airline is currently evaluating its long haul fleet, and does not rule out the possibility of A380 in the future. This was reported by Flight International. The current fleet of SAA long haulers consists of Boeing 747s and Airbus A340-600.s

SAA is talking with ILFC for the lease of at least two A380’s. The planes would be delivered in 2009 at the earliest. The South African government has yet to give the green light to this proposal.
