Virgin Atlantic?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had flown with Virgin Atlantic in economy – especially from London to Tokyo. I’ve booked the tickets so it would be too late to back out anyway, but I would like to hear what you think about them just to prepare myself 🙂

Cheers

I have to agree – Virgin Atlantic and their A340-600s are superb. The crew are great, the inflight service is brilliant, meals and drinks are of a high quality and the inflight entertainment (V-Port) installed on all of the -600s is unbeatable! 🙂

I fly with virgin to the states a lot and they are the best airline i have ever used, the aircraft all have in seat entertainment, which includes the now staple sky map movies etc.

On my 11 hours flights i now just call them 3 movie flights as that is the amount of films i can watch in that time.

A friend of mine went to tokyo with virgin and said the flight was excellant so you should be ok.

Thanks for the vote of confidence – I’m glad I selected Virgin over BA (who also had a similar deal on at the same time).

hey yea i have just done the trip in Oct on their A340-600, the cabin is stunning, but i am 6.1ft and the economy class seats did not fend well with my back! but apart from that their economy cabin is great! They also have a great entertainment system.

Hehe, I’m not 6ft+ so I think it’ll be fine for me 😀

But, ace, I’ll have to look forward to the flight. AH, I get to fly to Asia without a stop-over for once! Gotta love those January sales 😉

So is that better than the 747? Or is there not really much difference?

Cant comment really because I’ve never flown on a A346 yet 🙁

According to the V-Flyer website you will almost certainly be flying on an A340-600. Lately 96% of the Tokyo flights have been with this equipment. 🙂

I have flown Virgin once (LHR-SFO & LAX-LHR), and thought that they were excellent. And just comparing them to a recent flight to MCO on British Airways, they are miles in front in terms of customer service…

What aircraft will you be flying on…A346 or 744?

I think it will have to be a 747 or A340-300.

I’m flying to MCO on Monday from Manchester, would usually go Premiun but have the 3 kids this time, so costs would be too much 😮 😀 When do you travel?
