MYT 767-300

Does anyone know the details of flight MYT013 and MYT014.
I have been told it is a 767-300 which i do believe, however what i cant get my head round is the actual route the Manchester – Varadero flight will be taking, brochures are saying outbound via Gatwick but nothing about the inbound. I am all very confused. Also if anyone has experiances of a MYT 767 please do tell me what they are like, i believe G-SJMC is the only one at the moment. I hope MYT lease an MD11 😀

Sad about the old 757s been destroyed 🙁
Is G-WJAN staying put, it was only built in 1997 😮
Also has G-SJMC had any difficulties while been back ?

Im confused on the 757 scenario too, i mean G-WJAN has returned, however there is rumour another 757 will join the fleet soon.
Things at MYT are confusing, one minute they don’t want the 767s next minute they do

G-DIMB – is this staying at Monarch for good ?

This a/c was returned to the leasing company, and then re leased out to Monarch. It is not due to return to MYT.

I’ve been on G-OBYI across the Atlantic and another Britannia/Thomson 767-300 (can’t remember which) a few years ago. I always loved the 360 service, but passenger comfort wasn’t one of the airline’s main priorities!

Out of curiosity, how does a long-haul British Airways 767 compare to one optimised for short haul? I flew G-BZHC back from Budapest in November 2004. As you might expect, its good legroom and a few TVs suspended from the ceiling. What is different on the other 767s?

The BY 763 i was on G-OBYC And G-OBYH Summer 04 and the legroom was soo crampt i had to sit sideways so my legs went out onto the aisle

and the MYT 763 Is operating MAN-TFS today

BA 767 G-BNWH is a very lovely aircraft to go on, people always knock it, but legroom and seat width is so generous.
The BY 767s G-OBYC and G-OBYD that i went on in summer were simply very cramped and i would hate to spend a flight on one of them transatlantic.
Only done a Monarch A330 once to Tenerife, that was a bit squashed but ok, but returned on an A300 which is quite similer.
I wish MYT still had the DC10s 🙁

Im very use to the 767-300 untill 2005 when we stoped and tried a totally different airline becuase we just hated our expeirence with Thomson Holidays!

I must admit First Choice is so much better than Thomon Holidays by far!

Ow right the 767-300 lol

Ive Been on Air UK Lesuire 763, Britannia 763, about 6 times and i thought the legroom was very poor on the britannia but the UK Lesiure seemed fine. I then later travelled on a Airtours A330-200 and was pleased with the seating and the loo! (downstairs) lol!

Not sure if that helped but anyway!

I don’t mind 767’s, they always have lovely powerfull take offs and are always smooth flyers, however when in charter airlines hands they seem to cram as much seating as possible making it very narrow and poor legroom.
The BA 767 G-BNWH i flew on last year to JFK was very nice, great legroom and seat pitch too, however going on a BY 767 in summer i soon noticed a big difference. Apart from comfort having no PTV’s is my only other real dissapointment, unless they fitted them on G-SJMC.

2-4-2 config, very narrow seating, poor legroom and typical charter standard

I flew an Airtours/MyTravel 767-300 a few years back (in fact, it was G-DIMB) across the Atlantic and back to London Gatwick. We know what to expect in the way of legroom and seat width from charter airlines, but this particular aircraft at the time was very grotty inside. And for a 10-hour flight, you just couldn’t get comfortable.

We flew out on the A330. What a shock I got as I peered out of the window and saw the 767 pull onto the stand. 😮

I did MAN-LGW on my way to Egypt, it took about 45 minutes on the A300 and we were cruising at 19,000 feet. You are allowed to stay on the aircraft as they only stop there to pick up more passengers and have a crew change.

I would be very interested to know if there will be any more 767s coming this winter. Im very much certain my flight will be on G-SJMC, i take it this is the aircraft that was nearlly written off 😮
And of course has a 2-4-2 config, very narrow seating, poor legroom and typical charter standard, i love it 🙂
Will this plane just be doing long haul or will it be doing Canary routes as well.

Hi,

The Engines are General Electric CF6s – the same as Britannia.

Thanks

You’ll probably be allowed to stay on the plane, I guess you’ll be on the ground for about an hour. MAN-LGW is about 30 minutes flying time.

How long is the flight time then to Gatwick.
Do they let you off plane at Gatwick or is it just a case of wait around before some southerners get on.
