Airport Photography

I’m a big fan of airport photographs. Especially the overhead views of the runways and terminals. Anybody have great shots of those? I would love even more to see some night or dusk photos with the runways all lit up. I just can’t seem to find any. I would love to see great shots. Thanks all!

Well here’s three I took while on holiday in the Dominican Republic and is an ‘overview’ of Puerto Plata (MDPP/POP) during a helicopter trip and they are all in the link in my signature.

Hope you enjoy em…

Just to clarify, I haven’t a clue myself. It’s just the joys of digital photography, you click away madly at anything 🙂

Last one military or ex military? Looks like hardstandings/dispersals on the loop to the right of the runway.

You might like to try and identify these. Shot from the window of a Ryan 737 en-route Stansted > Venice. Apologies for the distortion and lack of quality.

They are in the order we flew over them, all of them are beyond Amsterdam

I would also suggest airliners.net. It advertises itself as the largest database of aviation photographs on the net, and it’s probably right! Some of this planet’s most talented aviation photographers contribute to that site, so it’s probably the best place to start.

If you go to the home page, and in the top bar go to ‘search’, then to ‘search photo database’, you can either search all photos taken at night/dusk, or make your search more specific by searching through certain airlines or aircraft types.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info and pictures. I will try airliners.net for some photos. If anyone has night shots and wants to post them that would be great too.

Maybe Google Earth, though the detail on this varies vastly from area to area. Attached are some pics of mine I took of EGLL on way back from Carcassone earlier this year:

Airliners.net or myaviation.net are probably the best places. A huge database of photos.
