🙂 Hey guys! Quite excited tonight due to the news and mystery regarding Air Wales’ new French routes and becuase I’ve just found something out that doesn’t happen very often. You will remember that there was a fuss a few days ago when it came out that FR had slashed the frequency of BRS-DUB from 16Xweekly to just 6Xweekly. There was also talk that they had ditched CWL-DUB altogther. Not True! The reason why they cut the BRS service is becuase….. wait for it……. they have increased CWL-DUB to 10X weekly!!! 10 times!!! This on top of Air Wales and Aer Arann both serving the route as well means absolutely huge capacity from CWL-DUB!! It’s also a relief becuase rumours have going around that FR had fallen out with the management of CWL. This proves otherwise- or even if they have, it shows that it doesn’t effect their business decisions. 🙂

No, I think theres going to be overcapacity on the DUB route. Judging by the size and track record of the 3, Air wales should fall victim. However, Ryanair have awful timings, and this has made them second best to Air Wales on the DUB route for almost 3 years. So, Ryanair are likely to be the least successful, but their shear size and power will mean they won’t can the route, they’ll just carry on, like they always do. I mean, it would be humiliating for them to fall victim to two relatively small regional carriers.

That is a lot of capacity! Ryanair must be fighting back, cant see them pulling out or reducing frequency to put money in aer arrans pockets!
Is there really call for all 3 airlines to operate? As ryanair times are staying more or less the same, Air Wales and Aer Arran need to think wisely about costings and timing.

Yeah, true.

Yeh, but still. Combine 10xweekly with twice daily flights by both Air wales and AerArann seperately and thats alot of capacity.

Yep, the likes of LBA, BRS, and NCL were all showing big reductions compared to the past summer, now all either identical or better than last summer. Dont know why Ryanair only released once daily flights at 1st.
10x weekly doesn’t sound that great anymore when BRS will be about 20x weekly! Still good news to see any increase.
