Ryanair 2 new routes from Prestwick – Marsseille& Reus

Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 low f ares airline, today (7 th December 2005) announced two new international routes from Glasgow Prestwick airport to Barcelona Reus and M****ille. Barcelona will start on the 23 rd Feb 2006 and M****ille will st art on the 24 th Feb 2006. Both routes will operate 3 times weekly.“With the addition of Barcelona and M****ille, Ryanair now has 20 routes from Glasgow Prestwick airport. Passengers have been crying out for more low fares from Ryanair and these 2 new routes to Barcelona and M****ille really put Glasgow Prestwick on the International map.

Is this their first route to M****ille? Quite a big airport so bucking the Ryanair trend of going to remote ones

Why the censoring for M****ille? It’s not like it’s a swear word. It’s a lovely city, although personally I prefer other places in Provence if it comes down to it (I lived close to M****ille, in a town called Aix-en-Provence for a while)

It certainly bucks the trend for them choosing airfields in the middle of nowhere or small, insignificant airports where they’re pretty much the only airline. Doesn’t their archrival Easyjet already fly to MRS? Easyjet, though, does seem to choose the major airports as destinations (Amsterdam Schiphol for example – it would be very, very, hard to imagine Ryanair flying there for one thing). One thing I clearly remember from MRS, is the very sharp turn the plane sometimes makes as you’re coming in to land (I’ve flown there a few times).

Given Ryanair’s habit of saying it flies to major cities when the actual place it goes to is quite a way away (like ‘Frankfurt’ Hahn, which is a long coach ride from Frankfurt as I remember when having flown there in 2004), could the actual airport / airfield be somewhere nearby? I do know that in any case they already fly to Nimes and also Toulon, I believe.

Sorry if this post appears a bit jumbled but I just remembered something else : Ryanair also fly to Montpellier and I seem to remember that Montpellier airport is of a similar-ish size to M****ille (M****ille felt bigger, though), so maybe it isn’t bucking the trend that much.

Anyways……

They may wait and see what the results of the Prestwick are. I don’t know what destinations they go to that are around MRS, but they do fly to a number of French destinations so they may leave it at that.

Do you think STN-MRS will be announced soon?

What’s the point? So what, it says ****. M****ille really shouldn’t be blocked like that. Bit too far.

Good news regarding the routes by the way… 😉

This word sensoring is winding me up now: M****ille an ordinary word/Noun blocked out in the Middle!
