Side by side landing at LAX

Hi

Check this picture out from Airliners.net. Its a bit off a close shave on approach to LAX. A mexican A32O and a Cathay B744 side by side on final approach.

do you think it’s real or has it been modified??

It’s happened to me more times than i can remember at both LAX and SFO, it’s an everyday occurence

yep, SFO is very common, and the runways are very close together giving an amazing view. 😀

I landed at Denver or Houston – cant remember now – on a CO B727 with a United 744 landing adjacent to us, it’s some site!

Of course it’s real, and this isn’t anywhere near a close shave. There’s more distance between those two aircraft than you think!

Stunning photograph!

I have been to LAX before, and have seen a parallel landing for my own eyes. Admittedly it was about 2 years ago, but still…you have got my word that they happen…enough said. 😀

It happens all the time. It looks real cool from the flight deck.

It strikes me that some people could do with brushing up on their optical theory, particularly the chapters on tele-focal compression. 😀

Everytime a decent photo is posted on this forum, it’s authenticity is questioned, i wish you lot would stop being so cynical

Its hardly a close shave, parallel landings like that happen all the time at some airports.

Its a stunning shot though!

With everyone say it looks fake now i am been looking at it for a long time and I think it is fake now and one reason for it is which way is the plane he is in flying is it going over the A330 or what.I might ask him if it is fake :dev2:

Now this has to be photo of the year!!!

I don’t see the point of this thread.

Sid by side landings happen in a number of airports, LAX and SFO are just two i’d pick out as classic side-by-side ops airports

So yes it is real
