How to identify which a/c operated a specific flight..

I’ve found this website which is brilliant for checking which exact a/c operated a specific flight eg. If you wanted to know which Thomsonfly B757 operated a LGW-TFS flight on a particular date; the acars search function will give you this info.

It seems to vary from operator to operator doesnt it David? All the BA from LGW that use alphanumerics as callsigns have their ACARS set to Flight Number, yet FCA who use Alphanumerics set the Alphanumeric callsign to the ACARS

DP2607 on 29/10 = G-OOBH
Don’t know what DP2606 was on 22/10.

Therein lies another problem with ACARSD – sometimes you’ll need to know the callsign that was used in addition to or instead of the flgiht number! DP2606/2607 = FCA883C/883D.

As previously discussed, your aircraft might not have been fitted with ACARS, and from the looks of things it appears it wasn’t, as putting DP2606 or DP2607 into the flight number section doesnt produce anything 🙁

Which flights are you looking for Alex? Flight Number and/or route + date are required really.

I’ve just tried to use it and it doesn’t work, and I’m trying to look for 2 flights in particular.

How do you search for a flight?

I think usually its an option at purchase, and is rarely exercised as an addon further down the line. This will cause discrepencies with fleets such as FCA where aircraft have been acquired from different operators, unlike BA who have had ACARS fitted factory new.

Not seen too many BY 757s in ACARS listings – seen 767s though. However, it’s not just locos + regionals that might not have ACARS, aircraft within the same fleet do not e.g. todays FCA267D to MAN was operated by G-OOBF (as confirmed on a couple of ops frequencies and on that site) but have not tied up FCA725D though.

Wow that is really very useful indeed if you happen to miss your reg. I’ve backdated it to my last ACARS equipped flight which was Aer Lingus to DUB back in September, and the regs off this match up with the ones I noted down.

Only prob is most of the LoCos and Regionals dont use ACARS
