A replica of The Spirit of St Louis broke up in mid air at a display yesterday, killing the pilot who built it himself.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted it here. I thought it was worth a mention though as it involved a civil aircraft and it seemed particularly poignant in the 100th anniversary year.
