I have just arrived home from the England vs Barbarians rugby match (great match!). I was wondering, is there anyone here who has landed into Heathrow whilst a rugby match is being played? If so, what did you see? Is it too high to see the scoreboard?

We were once stuck in traffic near Heathrow for at least an hour, typical of London I guess!
With aircraft landing every minute or so, it was the best jam I’ve been in, everything from Asian carriers and American carriers to British aircraft – fantastic!

Yes, it was a good view from the stadium. We were stuck in the traffic around Twickenham, and saw about 25 planes landing.

Yea it was, the aircraft usually had their landing gear down when they passed, and they were very close, not overhead, about 100 metres to the side of the pitch

I haven’t flown in during a game, but I suspect you wouldn’t see much detail, it looks like about it’s [Twickers, that is] about a half mile or so to the left of the flight path as you land.

Not sure about Twickenham, but it wouldn’t surprise me as it is fairly near to Wembley. Certainly, flights into LHR used to fly over the old Wembley site and you could see a lot of detail.

Not unless the airline offers satelite TV, a la jetblue, or you have connect via the internet.
