Fairford Airshow!!!! IF YOU LIKE 747'S PLEASE READ THIS!

Today I recived my tickets for Biggin Hill air show 2003, with them in the enverlope, was a leaflet advitising this year RIAT (Fairford 2003). I got reading through it, and came across something that, just HAS to be done.

RIAT takes place on 19th and 20 th of July at RAF Fairford, not far from Swindon.

Anywho, I read the optional Extras section…Heres what it said:

Join the Jetset – Fly into RIAT.

Exclusive return flights from Heathrow on a British Airways 747-400 are scheduled for Saturday 19 and Sunday 20.

£99 per person, including RIAT admission.
———————————————————————————–

Well I got thinking… When Am I ever going to get the chance to fly on a 747… not very soon thats for sure! But this… this offer jsut has to be taken up! OK £99 may sound expensive to some, but hey its something your never likely to do again?

Its about a 10 minute flight from LHR to RIAT. Not long, but an experiance no less!

My tickets will soon be on their way.

Last year BA offered flights into RIAT, but using a 777. This year they have gone one step better. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Show is based on 100 years of flight

I once flew IOM-IOM on a J41 as well. It cost £10 for a 30 minute flight. BA were having an open day at their maintainence facility and amongst other things, I sat in the flightdeck jumpseat of an ERJ-145 as it was taxying, had a good look at a disassembled ATP that was having a major check.

It’s a nice touch when airlines offer these kind of events.

On a bye-the-bye, some company is offering 1,500ft Helicopter rides around the TT race course for £99. They depart from a helipad which is about 20 minutes walk from my house. Not sure if I’ll do it, but if so I’ll see if cameras are allowed.

Got to be done Andrew, I did that one year with Titan from STN, its the only way to arrive and to fly in over all that q’ing traffic was worth every penny.
