Took this pic 2 years ago at LGW, after getting off my flight from Paphos. Quite a rainy day the day I arrived back, as you can see from the puddles outside.
Sorry for the glare.
Enjoy. 🙂

If it wasn’t for that incredibly futuristic traffic cone, it’d look great! Great stuff though! 😀

Tell you what, I’ll make a canvas print and send you it as compensation. 😀

Andrew,
I hope you don’t mind, but I couldn’t resist trying the ‘olde world’ filter effect on your DH Heron pic (I don’t have any retro pics of my own).
I think it looks great and just like an old postcard from the 40’s. 😀 Hopefully you’ll agree and once again apologies for taking liberties with your pictures.

And they’d tell you the livery was even older 😀

How’s this for ye olde world look ?
By: Ren Frew - 5th August 2003 at 11:33
You should have sepia’d the Heron and DC-4 pics for a classy 40’s look. In fact I think I’ve got a button somewhere that makes pics look old as the hills ? Great pics you lucky so and so ! 😀

Thanks everyone. Yes Kev the Jersey Airlines aircraft is a Heron. The aircraft with the funny looking nosewheel.

Steve.
I believe the Jersey aircraft is a Heron. The Dove/Devon were twin engined. The Devon was a military Comms variant used by the RAF.
Andy,
love the sepia tones, makes it a very atmospheric shot. Very reminiscent of the 30’s/40’s postcards we sometimes see today.

Very nice pictures Andrew, very nice!
The TCX one is unusual, I like it more than the others because its different. Thought DDA DC-4 close up shot has its own personal good looks.
A nice selection shown there, thak you dearly.

Thank you both.
Ok T5 just one more for now… a classic DC-4. I have had the pleasure of going on this aircraft, but only while it was on the ground.
