You are right , it wasn’t a radar. Apparently , it was an IR sensor for ICBM detection.

Was the dome for a radar, or was it housing a laser for the ABL test programme?
Because I can remember they usd a 767 with a dorsal fairing for that.

If anyone is interested , that photo was taken directly outside the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field , Seattle.
There is a Boeing Military Division complex next to the museum. When I was there a couple of years ago , there was a 767 with a large dorsal radar fairing there , as well as this 757.

Looks like they’re offering biplane rides on that 757. Those canards, theoretically, act as the upper wing, hence the biplane designation.

That 757 was used to test the F-22’s radar. And I guess the canards are there to counterbalance some aerodynamic problems, or to house some other electronics.
