Picture help please.

I took a trip to Cosford this afternoon to try out a new digital camera and took some photos of the airliners there. I thought they might make a nice contrast to the modern stuff. But……. in simple terms how do I shrink them below the 100kb limit and retain the quality?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. Strangely i’ve found if I open an image in MGI Photosuite then reduce the size by just one pixel both length and heightwise, the amount of kilobytes taken by the imafe is almost halved, yet the size difference to the image is minimal.

Thanks again.

Kev,

Paint Shop Pro does the job quite easily.

Shrink below 100k and keep the quality, not very easily.

Firstly shrink to a size that looks OK with a paint program. Now within the program you should be able to select your jpg compression. Keep going down 1 step at a time until its below 100k. I’ve tried a few and can usually get them below at 500 width using a compression of 2 or 3 which is still very low and looks OK.
