I am to this weekend be getting a new pair of Binoculars. I was talking to my brother about them yesterday, and he told me that there is now a pair of binoculars that has a camera built into them.
He said that he saw them on the net the other day… on some american site.
What I want to know is, Is there really such such a thing, are they sold in the UK, how much and are they worth it?
Cheers all. 🙂

These look quite good, some of them look like Polaroid cameras with binoculars stuck to them.

I stand corrected, did a search and yes you can buy them with a camera. There’s quite a range too. Here are the cheapest I could find. CLICK HERE Look on the main page under digital binoculars as well.
You can also get bincs with image stabilisers

Why would you want a camera/bino combo?
I think Binos with built in compass and/or rangefinder and/or image stabiliser makes sense but why a camera?
Seems a little strange to me.

No I did see them somewhere, but have forgotten where. They were something like $99…. in that price region.

Andrew,
I think your brother is pulling your leg mate. I have never heard of them but if I am wrong them please pass on the info as I would be interested.

I’ve never heard of them, but they’d sound comparable with digital SLR’s in pricing terms if I’m right. Unless of course they have a very low pixel count at the camera end… Sounds interesting though, let me know if you find them ?
