looks like Air India might be changing color schemes or am i just dreaming? Is this the result of the disinvestment and privatization of the airline, anyone got info on it?
BTW the new scheme looks a lot better then the old one.

If ur suggesting AI doesent have competition ur very wrong.

Lack of competition => image isn’t too important.

Also Iberia, Alitalia… Funny how of the main European players only BA and Lufthansa have updated there liveries over the past 20 years ?

Air India, Along with Air France are the main two airlines that haven’t given their fleets a new image… its about time they did, don’t you think?
We’ve had so many changes over the past 5-6 years:
United
US Airways
BA
KLM
Sabena
Although when you think about it there are quite alot that could well do with a change… AA, Qantas, PIA etc etc.

The link posted above shows a great colour scheme – was this designed or even considered by Air India or is it just somebody playing around to see what they can create?
Whatever the reason, it’s great – the colours and graphics are very bright and bold and just what Air India need.

I like the scheme, though seen before, it’s great. I’d just change the font of Air India, something a bit more bold. This is a massive nation of people, be bold.
Sorry Kabir, all due respect, but I can’t stand Air India’s current livery.

The first pic ichi posted is damn old…as A330C said it was an experiment and the Indian public voice brought the old scheme back. IMO the new one they tried is horrible, but the current one looks good on B747s. Disinvestment of AI and IC is off, fleet expansion delayed till 2004, right now the ministry concentrating on building world class airports at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. They plan to make Delhi one in comparable with Changi and they have actualy sanctioned just $2 million for it…bunch of clowns.

I trust you.
I just mean , that’s the reason why this A310 looks brand new.
The pix has been shot in TLS in ’95

That’s why it looks like a brand new A310
By: A330Crazy - 9th May 2003 at 10:28
Nah, thats not a new scheme at all… It was something they tried out a few years back, around 1995/6 time I think.
Im sure Kabir will be able to give us the correct answer. 🙂

Both are …. ugly.
BTW isn’t the first picture shot in Toulouse?
Looks like a brand new a/c

If that is a new colour scheme, I quite like it. The old colour scheme was ageing a little and the windows, each with the red border didn’t look too great.
