Hand87_5,

I suggested this a couple of weeks back, but can’t remember if there was any response to it.

Any idea if Branson plans to ask AF if he can’t deal with BA?

Looks like the regular Conc seats will go up in price, whereas some new Economy seats will cost about 50% of the regular price.

It depends on how many seats he can get in – I don’t think he can move from 4 to 5 abrest seating or really add too much more legroom.

It’s a nice idea but if I worked for VS’s finance department the practicalities would scare me. What’s to stop business travellers (who would otherwise pay full fare) from just going for a cheap auction, maybe hedging against a reufndable Upper Class seat?

i like bransons theory on seat sales – basically he would Aution them off – highest bidder wins if the seats are going empty – he’s rather operate making a smaller profit than leave it empty and take a chance at somebody needing it on the day and paying full price – i like the idea!

Good luck RB – Looks like the government are interested too!

I just had a look at the virgin concorde thread by Matt, and the pic is no longer there… just a small box with a red X in it.

LBARULES,

Graphics King Matt Murray has already done it, go back a few pages of the forum and take a look – spectacular, although we came to the conclusion that it could never be painted in the silver scheme because when it reached supersonic speed, it would do something it shouldn’t..!

Perhaps he intends to dramatically reduce the cost of a ticket if he has guaranteed that all flights would depart with a full load — not one empty seat?

I would like to see him succeed in this plan of his as well. Although questions must be asked regarding what difference a different airline will have on the publics confidence after some of the recent incidents. I think the only way would be for him to reduce the cost of the tickets initially then see how it goes from there.
