Airbus had a terrific day with two new big deals.

JetBlue placed an order for 65 brand new A320 + 50 options.
The French PM was in China to sign an oder a 50 Airbuses for several chinese airlines.

JETBLUE PLACES ORDER FOR 65 AIRBUS A320s

New York low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways has placed an order for a further 65 firm Airbus A320 aircraft, plus options for an additional 50 A320s. The newly ordered aircraft will be delivered starting in 2004 and running through 2011. Each will feature IAE V2500 engines, paralleling the rest of JetBlue’s current 41-strong A320 fleet. This new order brings the airline’s number of aircraft on firm backlog with Airbus to 111 A320s.

The Airbus A320 Family includes four single-aisle aircraft ranging in capacity from 107-to-185 seats. The A318, A319, A320 and A321 feature the widest fuselage of any single-aisle aircraft in the world, offering passengers more room to relax and crewmembers more room to maneuver through the cabin. In addition, the A320 Family features the most economical and environmentally responsible aircraft in their class, offering the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprints in their size category.
