Hi.
I have flown quite a lot of airlines, bu this Christmas and New Year I will be trying out three new airlines. Here is a summary of my trip:
16th Dec MAN – MUC (munich) LH5943
MUC – IAD (Washington) LH9280 operated by united
19th Dec IAD – CVG (Cinncinnati) DL5802
CVG – ATL (Atlanta) DL1988
ATL – MOB (Mobile, Al) DL1103
6th Jan MOB – ATL DL2098
ATL – IAD DL316
IAD – FRA (Frankfurt) LH419
FRA – MAN LH4850
I have never flown any of these airlines, so I was wondering if any of you have? If you have, what are ther standards like? aircraft? FOOD? Any tips at all?
Thanks,
Shaun

I would imagine that flying at Christmas with already-brilliant airlines will be fantastic. Isn’t this like you see in the movies where all the cabin staff wear festive hats and there are Christmas trees everywhere? :p
United are great. Like EGNM (I think) said, check CarSurvey.org, mine are on there somewhere and there are two alternative copies on the forum:

I’d say from experience the FRA-MAN leg will be an A320; MAN-MUC will be a CRJ-100. Pretty uneventful flights I would say. LH are perfectly OK, food is reasonable, seat pitch is OK, although seat coverings are a bit low grade.

I flew United London to NewYork. I found the cabin staf friendly and always will to help serve you. The food was great for Airline food as well.

I dont know about the rest but the one operated by United should be good if its a 777. We flew to Washington from Heathrow at christmas on a United 777, and then from Washington to Denver on a United 777, and on the way back we flew a United 777 from Denver to Chicago and then Chicago to Heathrow in a United 777 again! The inflight entertainment is excellent, and also on channel 9 (if I remember the channel correctly) is Air Traffic Control. On every United flight they have channel 9 on the frequency the captain is listening too. Its excellent, but it is at the captains discretion whether its on or not.
Enjoy your trip!

LH and DL are quite “middle of the road”.
I remember that DL’s pitch on atlantic routes is quite “cheap”.
For the rest nothing to complain about.
BTW , ATL is quite impressive with his private subway.
