Smart alec pilots!

I took a short flight today……and fortunately had a humerous pilot.

flight was on an ATR 72…… our flight was late by 1/2 hrs…during taxi the pilot announced “Sorry for the delay….a technical problem….my alarm failed to go off”:D

My father recently on a BA flight had a very rough patch over India…..the pilot announed “yes you can throw up but please watch the appolstry!”:D

I have a few more…written in my diary…..will get soon.

You guys have any experienec to share!:)

I hate to be anal about this, but I have seen the movie like 500 times. Kareem Abdul Jabaar, plays first officer Roger Murdoch and throughout the take-off roll, the Captain, Clarance Over (not sure of his real name), keeps saying “Roger” after tower gives him certain commands, which gets a reply of “huh?” from Jabaar. So this happens several times until Jabaar, not the tower, tells the Captain, “We have clearance, Clarance.” Then the Captain says, “Roger, Roger, what’s our vector, Victor.” Then he appears to shift into 4th gear. Did those old 707’s have a 5 speed or a 4-speed manual transmission?

LMAO I have the video ill look it out. But it goes along the lines of

Captain: Do we have clearance?
Tower: You have clearance Clarance (the captains name)
Captain: (to f/o) Roger Roger
Captain: Whats our Vector Victor (Third Pilot on 707)

As i say ill look it out!

Does anyone remember the pilot/ATC sketch in Airplane

Something along the lines of:

Roger, Roger, what’s our vector, Victor?

Last month on my British Airways flight to Bologna from Gatwick, we had a rather unique flight crew – two women. As we approached and passed over the runway to land at Bologna, we seemed to hover a few feet above the runway. Just about all on board assumed we had touched down because we were so low and applauded the women for their careful work! It seemed we had landed and not noticed it.. no thump onto the runway, no noise.. nothing! Obviously, some don’t expect this from a woman.

Seconds later… THUD! the aircraft had actually landed now and with some force too. Certainly not expected and quite a shock for all on board!

Also, last year (March), the Captain of our Airtours A330 at Montego Bay explained his reasons for taxiing the aircraft in circles! Air Traffic control had reserved him a plot, unfortunately, this plot was capable of holding an aircraft about a third of the size of the A330 as he put it!

Last Friday, I flew with Germanwings from CGN to TXL… One of the flight attendants had a really funny name (cannot remember, though). When her name was sait before departure, all onboard had a big laugh 😀 ! Then came the usual safety explanations. Our poor attendant had to read the whole. She could not. Every 3 words, she began laughing again… We were already on the taxyway, and the safety was not ofer. So, her colleague took the microphone, and… barely managed to finish it before we took off, also laughing. All attendants went back to their seats as the plane was already rolling on the runway! I never had such a funny flight.

And best of all, before take-off, nor the pilot, nor the crew apparently knew we were flying to Berlin! As they announced the destination, there was always a pause (they were reading the destination), then they pursued their speeches.

But I will definitely fly with them again, just hoping it happens again!

Haven’t experienced it myself but when my mum and dad went Malaga last month with MyTravel Lite they said the pilot was hilarious. They did give a few example but I can’t remember any apart from him saying that it was nice to actually have some passengers on his flight for a change!
