JMC pilot training cadetship

A message to Wys really.

The BBC won’t be making a docu series about the pilot traineeship you posted about Wys. I put the idea to BBC 3, 4 and BBC Scotland. Most felt it had potential as a “Fame Academy” style docu, following the recruits through the highs and lows of their progress to pilots.

Unfortunately the launch of BBC3 has eaten up a huge wodge of everyone’s production budgets this year, and they already have a large stockpile of similar, albeit non aviation type programmes to show owing to the much delayed BBC3 launch.

Discovery Channel UK would be a good bet, my girlfriend’s had some dealings with their commissioning editor although I suspect it’s too late now to follow the JMC cadetship and Discovery prefer to commission programmes in partnership with another production company or broadcaster.

Interesting point. I really have no idea what they will do with the EZY recruits. The bus will be going to the smaller bases first so I guess the individual type will depend on where they are to be based.

Yeah… I kind of thought it would have started by now. Oh well maybe next time if there’s another opportunity ?

Do you think the Easyjet recruits will train in Boeing and Airbus or just one or the other ?

Thanks very much for the feedback Ren. It’s actually a bit late now as not only have the 4 guys been selected but they (and the easyJet recruits) are already in New Zealand starting their training! I would expect them to be available to start 757 training towards the end of 2004.

cheers
