Whats the difference

Heres one for you Flypast guys, or anyone else for that matter.
We were having a discussion at work earlier about WW11 aircraft armament (guns) and wondered what the difference was between a cannon /cannonshell and a machine gun/bullet??

answers on a postcard etc etc.

A cannon fires a cannon shell, a machine gun fires a bullet. The difference between a cannon shell and a bullet is that a cannon shell explodes on impact, whereas a bullet doesn’t explode.
