[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-02-03 AT 09:19Â AM (GMT)]I want to travel to Perpignan via, London. The Ryanair flight leaves London Stansted – to Perpignan at 15:35 local. My question is how far apart are the London airports. I might fly into Luton or Gatwick. And how long is it going to take by public transportation?
regards,
jw

When I went up for a day spotting at LCY, I got a tube to Westham and then the SilverLink connection train that runs from Westham to SilverTown which is no more than a 5 min walk from LCY.

There is shuttle bus service from Canary Wharf, not sure about the DLR extension tho.
Public transport to LCY is extremely poor I must admit.
Probably the best way to get there is by plane.

Peace : 🙂

Not sure if it is relevant, but at LCY you normally have to use a taxi fro central London. Last time I was there (about 10 months ago) they were building an extension of the Docklands Light Railway – anyone know how complete it now is?

RE: Greater London Airports
The M25 (London circular, and Heathrow), M11(Stanstead), M1(Luton), and M23(Gatwick) motorways , connect all airports.
travelling times may vary according to traffic,Ive done Gatwick -Heathrow approx 45 min in car . From central London, if you allow an hour for each airport you wont go far wrong.
Public transport for Heathrow includes Underground from cental London, Heathrow express from Paddington, plus buses ,cabs, and an airport bus route aptly named “Airbus”.
For Gatwick there is only either the Gatwick express from Victoria Stn or regular train services , but they’re quite frequent.
Public transport for Stanstead and Luton are mainly coach services from various places in the UK although there is a rail link for Stanstead from Kings Cross Stn and a rail link for Luton also, on Thameslink trains ,from Kings Cross
Also there is a coach service that links Gatwick-Heathrow-Luton.
If you go by car make sure you’ve got a good map.
I hope this has been of help to you
