Surely one of the nicest schemes to be seen on an IL62! I understand that MALEV leased HA-LIA for the summer of 1993 to run a series of charters from Tokyo to Budapest, bringing Japanese tourists to sample the delights of Hungary (of which there are many!). If anyone knows who LIA was leased from I would really appreciate the info. If not enjoy the pic anyway.

It´s much more gracious, smart and beautiful than the B737….In fact I hate it. The wheel at the back was due to a faulty design, they calculated in a wrong way the gravity centre, so engines were so heavy, that extra support was needed on taxing.
