RE: Closed Airports
I spent half a day up at LCY spotting last summer. Now I presume the summer and Winter schedules are somewhat very different, but they seemed to be landing every 10-30 minutes. Gets very boring waiting around!

RE: Closed Airports
I said in the pic of the day post that I passed the LHR approach on the train on my way back from Waterloo. There were a vast number of flights approaching the airport and steady few leaving.
London City was passed and their seemed to be little activity. Being such a small airport, I’m not sure how frequently aircraft arrive/depart though. Perhaps this is the norm?

RE: Closed Airports
I was trying to send my grandfather home to Glasgow from BSL today…
the lunchtime BA/LX LHR flight was cancelled, but we managed to get him on the LX flight to MAN at 12:10. at least, it was scheduled for 12:10… it left 40 minutes late, which means he’s missed his connecting flight (having rebooked his BA shuttle flight from LHR to GLA to the first avaliable flight from MAN to GLA… a bmi flight… but obviously, BA wan’t having that, so booked him in under an LH flight number.) Now… who can tell me who I phone to find out what time he’ll arrive home tonight so I can have him met at the airport? BA? bmi? LH?
